Livin’ the dream!

As a native of Miami, I grew up camping, hiking, exploring, enjoying nature, and being in the great outdoors.

I sold my home and worldly possessions several years ago to start Livin’ the Dream of traveling and living full time in an RV

Enjoy yourself as I share my favorite places and locations.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park

100 years ago, President Coolidge signed a proclamation establishing Carlsbad Cave National Monument, then Congress granted national park status in 1930. Hiking down starts at the natural entrance and goes 830 ft underground so you can view subterranean marvels throughout the 120 caves in the 46,776-acre park. Carlsbad, NM | Mar 2024

Resort town of Bar Harbor

A beautiful mid-morning visit to the resort town of Bar Harbor, home of Wabanaki Indians until French Explorer Samuel de Champlain ran aground on a rock ledge, came ashore to repair his boat, and met the local natives.  Founded on the northeast shore of Mount Desert Island, the town was incorporated in 1796 as Eden, then renamed in 1918 as Bar Harbor after the sand and gravel bar visible at low tide.

May through October, the population increases dramatically with tourists and seasonal residents.  Many come for Acadia National Park for hiking, biking, and mountain climbing, with Cadillac Mountain being the highest point on the Atlantic Seaboard.

The maritime location is  home to puffins, whales, seals, puffins, seabirds, lighthouses, lobsters and a beautiful waterfront.
